Sat. 20th Sept. '25 17:48: Woah; first journal entry. I need to read Said's Orientalism and Naficy's Accented Cinema for university before they're overdue at the library, but I kind of want to just spend all my time reading about extraterrestrial phenomena. And New Moon... Definitely think I can reference it in my dissertation - Bella refers to her (undiagnosed) depressive episode as her being a 'zombie', her attempts at recklessness (self-harm) to summon the image of Edward are (perhaps) comparative to self-destructive behaviours used to scare partners into continuing relationships?? I also took Barthes' Mythologies out on loan, might start reading that one tonight. I don't really know what else to say; this journal entry was made to test this page's formatting. It's been raining all day and my jeans are still damp against my legs and I miss my mammy. When I'm back at the flat I need remember to pick up my new prescription of propanolol. Speak of the devil!
